Webcams are often seen as thinking in the background. They are built on almost every laptop and tablet, and if you need a dedicated one, there are many less expensive options. This will not give you the fun, smooth video you need to enhance your live streaming experience, though. With that in mind, Logitech StreamCam offers everything you need to get the best streaming of $ 169.99. With the ability to record up to 1080p video at 60 frames per second in height, landscape, or square area, including screen and three-dimensional stands, as well as a software package that allows you to easily change your video feed before you live, powerful streaming tool our editor.

Design

The StreamCam is a boxy camera in black or gray measuring 2.3 inches high, 1.9 inches wide, and 2.4 inches deep, with a five-foot cable ending with a USB-C plug.

The camera enters one of the two integrated U-shaped brackets that hold it gently with small processors near the back of the device. One mount is designed for displays and laptop screens, with a plastic mouth on the front and an arm pointed at a strong hinge with a small foot protruding from below. The small lip keeps the camera firmly in the top bezel of your screen, while the arm and legs are tied back. Another mount is a small tripod tripop that allows you to set up StreamCam on any flat surface.

The StreamCam pulls perfectly from any mount, not only so you can switch between it, but so you can use the camera to your liking or shape. With the Logitech logo down the front of the camera, it records up to 1,920 lengths with a resolution of 1,080 and 60 frames per second. Switching the camera against the clock by 90 degrees and placing it back on the mount puts a mark on the right side, and allows it to record 1080p60 video in landscape mode. StreamCam automatically changes depending on how it is installed.

Logitech Capture

You can use the recording and streaming software of your choice, such as Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and XSplit, and StreamCam. You can also use Logitech Capture software, which does not have full power and OBS or XSplit recording or streaming, but is very easy to use and still offers a lot of flexibility. More importantly, Logitech Capture also enables several useful features in StreamCam, which is why you will be able to use it with your favorite recording and streaming software.

Logitech recognizes that this will be a case of potential use, so Logitech Capture is seen as its active video feed when it operates, treats any group you set as a webcam. In fact, in OBS and other software, Logitech StreamCam and Logitech Capture appear as separate video sources, so you can choose between using raw video feed from the camera or used feed from Logitech Capture.

Logitech Capture allows you to change various recording settings in StreamCam, such as resolution (360p, 720p, or 1080p), frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50, or 60fps), and color rendering and adjustment. The software includes automatic focus toggles, white balance, image stabilization (which implants a small image to prevent camera vibrations), and automatic frames that track your face with a digital. Anyway you set up an image, that's what OBS, XSplit, or other capture software will see if you use Logitech Capture as a source instead of StreamCam itself.

Logitech Capture supports single recording, and has some simple image processes such as picture-in-picture and side-by-side with two sources. Cannot stream live to streaming services, however, and the selection of scenes and conversion results is limited. Think of Logitech Capture as much as processing software before you live (or start recording) with OBS or XSplit.

Performance

If you want to record 1080p60 video, especially with most operating systems, you will need a computer that can handle it. It only has integrated graphics, however, and video capture has started to shrink at 1080p60 with Logitech Capture and open OBS.

Logitech Capture alerts me with an on-screen message about these performance issues when they first occur. Switching to 720p60 solved the problem, and I could record in that resolution and frame rate without being removed from my humble laptop. I also found consistent 1080p60 graphics with Logitech Capture running on its own and OBS off. If you are planning to make a powerful recording of your recordings and streams, make sure you have the hardware that can support you.

Logi StreamCam

The video recorded with StreamCam looks great. Logitech Capture has automatically set the appropriate white balance, and the manual tweaks available let me fix the display and color issues in my brightly lit apartment. The 1080p60 video looks sharp and smooth, and the default frame is very helpful in keeping your face focused when moving on the frame.

StreamCam has two microphones for recording your voice in mono or stereo. Camera mics work and produce clean, balanced sound in my test recording. They also took to the surrounding noise, like the squeaking of my chair as I moved to it.

If you are committed to the reliability of audio in your streams, you may want to invest in a separate USB microphone and start recording audio with that device, to get the best recording quality and prevent ambient noise using capsio cardioid. StreamCam mics are great, but you can make things more sophisticated with special hardware.

Strong Start Pack

Logitech StreamCam is a flexible, versatile webcam package. The camera produces beautiful, smooth video at a variety of resolutions, frame rates, and orientations, with strong sound quality from its microphones. Integrated streaming and tripod mounts offer a wide range of recording options at almost any angle, and the Logitech Capture software includes a powerful selection of image capture tools to perform feeds before sending it live via OBS, XSplit, or other software. Its price is $ 170 higher than most Logitech webcams, but the additional options, features, and accessories make it worth it. If you want to be more proactive in broadcasting but don't want to invest in professional recording equipment, LogitechStreamCam is a very attractive package with the Choice of Editors.
